3 Quick, Non-Surgical Procedures to Totally Change Your Face

surgical proceduresPlastic surgery may not be the right choice for everyone, and it can be a scary decision to make, especially if you’re just curious about playing with the way you look. Luckily, surgeons nowadays have greatly improved how invasive a lot of cosmetic procedures are, and the stigma around cosmetic surgery is loosening as more people accept the value of making informed decisions about their own body. Perhaps most exciting is how plastic surgeons have come up with some innovative ways to quickly tweak your facial features in a few minutes in their office.

Non-surgical procedures rose in popularity by about 4.2% in 2017, and for good reason! They’re non-invasive, give natural results quickly, and are great for testing out a new look before you book a full-on rhinoplasty appointment. Here are a few areas of your face that you and your surgeon can consider lightly altering with minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment.

Nose

Rhinoplasty surgical procedures, commonly known as the “nose job”, were absolutely everywhere in the 1990s and 2000s. While the mania over nose jobs faded, they’re still an oft-requested procedure. Today, non-surgical nose jobs are going viral as posts pop up of hesitant people trying the quick, temporary procedure and coming out pleasantly surprised with their results. Crooked, bumpy, hooked, small, or flat noses can easily be tweaked by a few tiny injections and light shaping from your surgeon.

Lips

Are your lips looking thinner than you’re used to as you age? Maybe they’ve always been thinner than you’ve preferred. Or, maybe you’re interested in the Kylie Jenner lips trend but know it’s best not to use a suction cup to get the pouty lip results you want. Lip fillers are mostly temporary, but they give natural-looking, plush-lipped results.

Chin

Okay, you might have already heard of nose and lip fillers. But did you know your chin is an option for non-surgical fillers, too? A small or crooked chin can easily be smoothed out and given a stronger jaw line with a couple teeny filler injections.

What the filler actually is differs between procedures and surgeons. Keep in mind that most fillers metabolize or break down naturally over time. That means your procedure would have the most noticeable effect for up to six months and would have some visible effect for up to a year. Sometimes, a hyaluronic acid filler is appropriate, other times a gel filler. It’s always best to consult with an experienced cosmetic surgeon for advice on all surgical and non-surgical procedures. It’s their job to help you look and feel like your best self.
